spare petrol tank (Ruta 40)

Tip — Buy a spare petrol tank (around 100 pesos) or ask at a shop for bottles they don’t need. Make sure the tops screw on snugly! You will not need to use them if you take advantage of all available petrol stations, but it’s probably best to be on the safe side (just in case a petrol station is out of petrol) and fill up a – smallish – bottle / tank. Or just have the tank empty and trust that someone will pass. They do pass, albeit rarely.
